La Stejarul Bătrân / The Old Oak, posibil ultimul film al maestrului cinematografiei sociale și politice – Ken Loach, este o poveste despre redescoperirea umanității și solidaritatea care ne leagă pe toți.

The Old Oak este un loc special. Nu numai că este ultima cârciumă încă deschisă, ci și singurul spațiu public în care oamenii se pot întâlni într-o comunitate minieră, cândva înfloritoare, care acum trece prin vremuri grele, după zeci de ani de declin.

TJ Ballantyne (Dave Turner), proprietarul, ține cu dinții de The Old Oak, iar efortul lui este pus la încercare când cârciuma devine subiectul unei dispute teritoriale odată cu sosirea refugiaților sirieni care sunt aduși în sat. O prietenie neașteptată se înfiripă atunci când TJ întâlnește o tânără siriană cu un aparat de fotografiat, Yara (Ebla Mari), alături de care încercă să găsească o cale pentru ca aceste două comunități să se înțeleagă.
